After learning under Alton, I have a much deeper understanding of the importance of not just playing music, but playing music for a reason. I know it is my calling to play and teach for others, so Alton focused on getting me out of my comfort zone in order to perfect these skills. His patience as he helped me grow as a musician is like none I’ve ever experienced, and he was more than happy to walk me through the steps, no matter how long it took, in order to see me to success. Alton teaches because he knows that is one of his many God-Given Gifts and he does it with excellence. I’d recommend anyone to learn under Alton because he is such a well-rounded musician and is is familiar with most genres of music. He is a genuine man who truly wants to help his students progress in whatever they seek to learn. It was an honor being one of his students and it’s an even greater honor to have him as my mentor.
